30 Days of The Classic 11oz Selvedge

30 Days of The Classic 11oz Selvedge

Day 01.
It's October 12th and today is day 01 of my 30 day challenge. Like good wine and quality leather, selvedge denim gets better with time. Wear them often, and you'll notice the surface indigo rub off and the dry, stiff cotton soften up. It's the vintage style production and the unique fabrication that hasn't been treated or processed that lets us create our very own custom pair of faded jeans. Simply put, the value lies within the quality of denim and its special ability fade.
Do you love denim but can't wrap your head around wearing the same jeans every day? Read up on Reddit, check out the denim hashtags, browse denim blogs and shops.. Lots of people are wearing the same pair of jeans every day and sharing their #rawfie's along the way. You'll notice most posts are of men by men. Selvedge denim has historically been a boy's club. For the first time ever, Naked & Famous Denim have introduced 100% Cotton selvedge denim for women and it's cut in a very cool, flattering fit for all body types. The Naked & Famous Denim and Tate + Yoko team are obsessed with The Classic's. To prove my dedication to denim and show the versatility N&FD's new fit, I am going to wear the The Classic / 11oz Indigo jeans every day for at least 30 days. Follow along as I post pics here daily. Listen to Bahzad and I chat about jeans and my 30 day challenge on the Naked & Famous Denim Podcast Episode 01

Day 02.
Casual Friday at the office. This Naked & Famous Denim Easy Shirt is the coziest thing I own.

Day 03.
Saturday morning coffee on my balcony before heading into the shop.

Day 04.
Spending the day in the country. We're renovating the cottage so I was running in and out of hardware stores all day.

Day 05.
I just spent the day getting ready for the work week (I'm in the office Tuesday to Saturday and have Sunday/Monday's off). This is what no makeup, braid I wore to bed the night before, t-shirt and same jeans I've had on for 5 day's looks like.

Day 06.
Usually I like one wide cuff but today I switched it up. I rolled my cuff three times because I think this looks better with my Chelsea Boot. Note my very Canadian accessory, an XL Tim Hortons coffee cup. This photo was taken in our factory.

Day 07.
One week in and these 100% cotton, 11oz selvedge are feeling noticeably soft. I'm noticing some fading on the zip fly and my back pockets.  This photo was taken in the Naked & Famous Denim showroom.

Day 08.
The office is buzzing with excitement. The much-anticipated "Made in Japan" 4 will be released tomorrow, Friday October 20th online and in-store. This photo was taken in Tate + Yoko.

Day 09.
Happy Friday! This photo was taken in our warehouse.

Day 10.

Day 11.
The Classic's from AM to PM. We're matching! Lea's in the Duck Selvedge.

Day 12.
Spending the day going in and out of furniture stores in Plateau today. The cottage renovations are moving quickly and we need a bed!

Day 13.
Grey skies and rain all day in Montreal today. I'm wearing a long rain coat and using an umbrella so hopefully me and my jeans don't get too wet on our commute home.
Also, here's a good rainy day song: Tadow - Masego & FKJ

Day 14.
Cozy day. This Kamakaze Attack x Naked & Famous Denim sweater is the softest. This photo was taken in our head office.

Day 15.
Fun fact: I've had this men's Medium Grey Vintage Doubleface Sweater since 2012. A way more fun fact: We made Fire King / Naked & Famous Denim mugs in 2014. They sold out but we have a couple kicking around at the office. Fire King is a legendary brand of glassware. Very popular in the 40s and 50s, the restaurant ware products are now rare and collectible items for fans of the past. Among the most popular is their D-Handle Milk Mug in their signature Jade-ite color.

Day 16.
Happy Friday!!!! An update on how the jeans are feeling... They're incredibly soft. As for smell.. Not smelly at all! I hang them every night on a clothing rack and I'm convinced this helps keep them fresh (as oppose to folding them away in shelves or drawers). These jeans are lightweight, 11oz denim. Because they're lightweight and have a smooth surface, I'm not making fade patterns. The indigo however is a lighter blue all over. Especially on the butt and around the waist band. They're wrinkled behind the knee and at the crotch.. I'm going to steam those wrinkles out tonight.

Day 17.
Outfitting everyone in warm fuzzy denim (see Brushed Selvedge) and fleecy shirting (see Brushed Shadow Twill) today because it finally feels like Fall. This photo was taken in the Tate + Yoko store front.

Day 18.
In the country working on the cottage today. Maybe I'll share some before and after's?

Day 19.

Day 20.
I wear a size 24 in The Classic's. Today I measured how much the waist stretched. To start, tag size 24 has a 26" waist measurement. After 20 days of wear, the waist has stretched 1.25" and now measures 27.25".

Day 21.
I just stepped out of a very exciting meeting. So much good stuff to come!

Day 22.
One unsolicited fact I've learned doing this challenge is a good photo happens every 3-4 days.

Day 23.

Day 24.
Blurry pic of me at a friends before she makes me dinner.

Day 25.
"I'm not cold, I'm not cold, I'm not cold, I'm not cold"

Day 26.
I look like a modern day Mrs Claus today.

Day 27.
This 100% wool sweater knit in Canada is what dreams are made of.

Day 28.
Remember when doing the "mannequin" went viral?

Day 29.
29 days, already?!

Day 30.
